The Iridium SBD 9602-LP is a small and discreet ultra-low power consumption Iridium satellite asset tracker. It is capable of sending either standard or 256-bit AES encrypted GPS reports at pre-programmed intervals ranging from once every four seconds to once every seven days. This reporting interval and other device settings can be changed remotely while the unit is in the field.
The Iridium 9602-LP is a pocket sized satellite based asset tracker designed to operate on the Iridium low-earth orbit satellite network, resulting in 100% global coverage. It offers two way transmission capability and a rechargeable lithium battery capable of transmitting up to 1,500 tracking reports on one charge. The 9602-LP features an external multi-interface connector and connectors for external Iridium and GPS antennas (which should be purchased separately).
The 9602-LP is ideally suited for the tracking of high value ground and sea based assets such as vehicles, vessels, railcars and shipping containers or for aeronautical tracking on helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. It is also suitable for tracking environmentally demanding platforms including buoys, unmanned aerial vehicles, rockets and even high altitude balloons.
Weighing just 227g, the 9602-LP can be used for overt or covert tracking and is capable of transmitting GPS coordinates from as little as every 4 seconds at altitudes of up to 164,000 feet and velocity of 500m per second.
Global Coverage The 9602-LP satellite asset tracker operates on the Iridium satellite network. This is the only commercial satellite network in the world to offer 100% truly global coverage, meaning the 9602-LP can show the location of your asset, wherever it travels across the globe.
GPS Capability The 9602-LP satellite asset tracker is equipped with Location Based Services (LBS) enabling GPS positioning. The device is capable of transmitting its GPS coordinates from anywhere on the globe.
Dust & Water Resistant The 9602-LP satellite asset tracker is designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions.
SOS Function The 9602-LP satellite asset tracker is equipped with a programmable emergency button that activates critical, rapid response when you need it most. When pressed, the SOS button transmits your GPS coordinates and alerts your pre-specified contacts that you require assistance.
Follow-Me Function Using the two-way Iridium satellite constellation, the 9602-LP satellite asset tracker offers a ‘Follow-Me’ function. This enables you to ping the device, wherever it is located in the world, and instruct it to transmit its current GPS coordinates and status (device must be turned on with a satellite connection to enable this feature to function correctly).
Geo-Fencing Function In conjunction with OSAT Track, OSAT’s online mapping portal, the Iridium SBD 9602-LP satellite asset tracker offers a geo-fencing feature. This allows you to predefine a set of geographical boundaries and be alerted by email when the device enters or exits the geo-fenced area.
Our online mapping portal can track your 9602-LP to provide real-time information via your GPS location. Any person provided with the login can become an operator to monitor any number of GSM or satellite assets simultaneously in-real time and historically on both the Basic and Professional plans.
